Now that it is officially summer for those of us in the sunshine state it's important to give your lash extensions some extra love and attention. The combination of heat, humidity, and outdoor activities can pose challenges to lash retention. In this blog post, we'll share essential tips, and some highly recommended products to put in that beach bag to help you maintain stunning lash extensions all summer long. Protect Your Lashes from Water: While diving into the pool or taking a dip in the ocean is tempting, protecting your lash extensions from excessive water exposure is crucial. It's important to steer clear of oil-based/glycol skincare products, as they can break down the lash adhesive. Protect your skin but do not spray sunscreen on or around your face. The oils will severely ruin your lash retention. If your skin is getting a bit more oily get yourself a makeup remover pad. This sealer cures your lashes within minutes and increases the strength of the bond between the natural lash, the lash adhesive, and the extensions.
Mindful Cleansing: Proper cleansing is key to maintaining healthy lashes and preventing buildup. However, be mindful of the way you cleanse your lash extensions in the summer. Use a gentle, oil-free cleanser and avoid rubbing or pulling on your lashes. Typically the one your lash artist supplies will be fine and is best since it's tested with their products. Remember, gently cleanse the lash line and extensions with a soft brush or a cleansing wand to remove dirt, sweat, and debris. As an extra precaution, after outdoor summer fun make sure you bring a bottle of distilled water and at least rinse your lashes so that the salt particles from sweat and the beach are rinsed away until you can properly cleanse of course your face will be wet and you will need something to dry around the area.
