Lash Extensions vs Lash Lifts
Updated: Jun 29

One of the most common questions we are asked is the difference between a Lash Lift and Tint and a Full Set of Lash Extensions. In this blog, we will be discussing the pros, the cons, and all the things you need to know to make an educated decision so you can book the service that fits you best!
Lash Lift
A Lash Lift is a half-hour to an hour-long service if you include a tint. Lash Lifts are a chemical service that involves perming the natural lashes over a rod. Yes! I said perm, and rod, together! This service is similar to the same concept we knew way back in the day! Obviously, the chemical makeup of the lash solution is not as strong for Lash Lifting but it is of similar chemical makeup.
A Lash Lifting solution is applied to the natural lash. The solution will alter the shape of the natural lash. The end result is similar to lashes after using a lash curler. Due to wrapping the natural lashes over the perm rod the lashes will appear longer and curl upwards.
When adding the tint (tint is optional) the lashes will appear darker and more dramatic which is nice if you have naturally straight, or light lashes. This service will add length and color but will not add volume. See the photo on the left side as an example of a Lash Lift and Tint performed on blonde lashes. Lash Extensions
Lash Extensions are typically an hour and a half to a three-hour service depending on the artist. Lash Extensions are individual or multiple synthetic lashes applied on a 1:1 ratio on each natural lash to give an overall finished look of added length and volume. Lash Extensions require daily aftercare and you should avoid products that aid in the breakdown of lash adhesive. More extensive instructions for products and actions to avoid while wearing Lash Extensions can be found in our blog here.
This lash service is customizable and is perfect if you are looking to add, length, darkness, and volume to your lashes. Photos of Lash Extensions can be found on our Instagram we often include the type of lash set in the caption. Such as; Classic, Hybrid, Volume, Wispy, Mega, and Wet sets. The photo depicted below on the right side is a Classic Wispy Set. Classic Wispy lashes are accomplished by using Classic Lash Extensions in a 1:1 ratio taking one lash and applying it to a natural lash with adhesive after isolating the surrounding natural lashes away with tweezers.
