How to Do Your Own Lash Extensions
Updated: Dec 6, 2022

Whether you're a busy professional who doesn't have time to go to the salon or you just prefer to do your own beauty treatments at home, you may be considering applying your own lash extensions.
Lash extensions can give you long and voluminous lashes that look great without the need for mascara or other products.
But here is the thing, while doing your own lash extensions has its pros, the pros themselves do not recommend!
Why Do I Need To Go to a Professional to Get Lash Extensions?
Lash extension glue releases fumes that drys out the eyes and can cause lasting dry eye and discomfort if not worked with properly. Professional lash extensions are applied in a complex manner and require a plethora of knowledge to accomplish sanitary, lasting, application without damage; these include monitoring humidity levels, temperatures, and lash placement just to get started. Thats not even touching application.
Lash extensions are applied in a very complex manner and require a lot of knowledge about things like lash isolation, taping methods, lash diameters, lash curls, glue saturation, you get it, the list goes on. If they're not applied correctly, they can cause damage to your lashes or just fall out resulting in time wasted! Kinda defeats the purpose, right?!
Fear not! This dilemma is exactly why the DIY lash extension kit was born! The glue is flexible and available in two colors; clear and black, so it doesn't cause damage to the lashes and is easy to apply, the remover is hypoallergenic, and they can last 2 days or weeks- it's all up to you, they are the pinnacle of customizable!
How to Safely DIY Your Own Lash Extensions
So if you're considering doing your own lash extensions, here are the best steps to follow and keep in mind:
Step 1: Ensure Your Natural Lashes Are Fully Cleansed & Apply the First Coat Of Bond Underneath Your Natural Eyelashes And Wait 30-60 Seconds For The Adhesive To Become Tacky.
Step 2: Use The Applicator To Gently Remove A Piece Of Lash From The Tray. (You can do this step ahead of time, just make sure all of the lashes removed from the tray stay lined up in order of placement)
Step3: Place Segmented Lashes Gently Underneath Natural Lashes One By One, From The Outside To The Inside Of The Eyes.
Step4: Lock In With Sealant. Use The Sealant To Gently Tap The Lash Line To Make Them Merge With Your Own Lashes, Mainly At The Base Of The Lashes.
Step 5: Sealing Takes About 30-60 Seconds To Dry.
Step 6: Squeeze The Lashes Together At The Lash Line Using The Siroki Lash Applicator
Bonus Tip: To Get Your Lashes to Last Longer!
It’s just one an extra step but it is super helpful!
Go along the top of the lash line with bonder and follow that with sealer, repeat this on the bottom of the lashes then use the gold tool (Siroki Lash Applicator) in the kit to secure.
This will give you an added level of protection. When we do this at Siroki Lash Studios
[Located in Jacksonville, FL] our clients tell us their lashes last up to 3 weeks! When they follow after care of course!
So If You Want to DIY Your Own Lash Extensions… Get a kit. Period.
Applying your own lash extensions is not recommended unless you have the proper tools and knowledge to do so safely. However, if you are considering doing your own lashes, there are DIY lash kits available that can give you the same beautiful results as the professionals without damaging your natural lashes.
Whether you're looking to save money or simply want more control over your lashes, DIY lash extensions are definitely worth considering. With so many benefits, it's no wonder they're becoming more and more popular every day!
