How to book your beauty bridal services. The steps to take before walking down the aisle.

Updated: Jun 29

We know you are stressing about all the steps to take to get yourself ready to say "I do". You just need a list telling you what to do to get ready! This is exactly what you have been looking for. This blog will cover everything you need to know to get you ready to walk down that aisle flawlessly!

So, Why should you trust me? Well, I have been working in the bridal industry as a beauty professional since 2014! Due to having close to a decade of experience, I am a trusted source for ensuring you look your best on the big day.

While I do have years of experience in the wedding industry this is my first year being on the other side of the appointment process. I am the Maid Of Honor for my best friend's wedding.

Let me start by telling you I have now seen firsthand the amount of little to no guidance you guys get when it comes to time frames, organization, and planning processes.

These appointments could be so much easier! The stress of it all could be diminished if there was simply a source for you to understand when you need to book and what to do to prepare for those beauty appointments.

Well, here is your source.

The Hair

Understand now, that most of the photos you see of bridal hair have hair extensions or hair forms. A hair form is just something we add to the look on the inside hidden beneath the hair to give you a fuller look. If you are reading this blog you have probably already been down the rabbit hole that is wedding "Pinterest".

Keep in mind most of those photos do not show the face of the person. Therefore, you need to think about what you want the front of the hair to look like as well as the back of the hair. If you wish to incorporate hair extensions into your look make sure to purchase human hair extensions. Anything else will melt.

You may also want to book your appointment with your hairstylist before even booking your trail wedding hair. This way you can ensure the color is where you want it. The hair around the face has framing if you want pieces down and any trims that need to be done are taken care of.

Typically, when we say this most people think 🤔 "that’s just another thing to add to my budget, those are pricey". Trust me, your hair makes a big difference and you need to come to your trial with it as close to how it will look on the big day as possible.

The Makeup

Booking your makeup does not take quite as much preparation. You do need to communicate to your artist what you like and don't like. Keep in mind that it is important for you to feel like yourself and comfortable.

The trial is definitely the time to try something like a winged liner if you have been wanting to or your lip color options. Personally, I have found when brides select an inspirational photo that is completely different than how they regularly wear their makeup they do not feel like themselves and bring it back to authenticity.

After you have a few looks selected and an idea of what you would like. Start by shopping around by looking up Makeup Artists on Instagram most artists post their work on Instagram. Book the appointment for your trial a few months out from the wedding so you have time to shop around if you end up not liking the first one or if you want to try a few looks.

This will ensure you don't feel rushed or pressured to book something you are not truly happy with. Also, keep in mind the number of people you are looking to include in the services so that you can communicate that with the company and your timeline is seamless.

The Lashes

At this point, your hair and makeup should have been selected. Now, look at the work of different Lash Artists that correlate with that look. Show the lash artist of your choosing the desired look you are going for and your lash extensions should complement that look the best. Keep in mind your lashes should be done for the day of your wedding with the wedding day look in mind.

THESE ARE NOT EVERYDAY LASHES!

Here at Siroki Lash, we recommend booking your Lash Appointment in one of the following ways;

Option 1 (2 weeks, 2 days)

  • Book the original Lash application (Full Set or Express Set) 2 weeks before the wedding (give or take a few days).

  • Schedule the fill-in appointment within a couple of days of the wedding date.

  • Use the fill-in to customize anything you may want to change before the wedding date.

Option 2

  • Schedule the Full Set or Express Set Lash Appointment within a couple of days before your wedding.

Segmented Lashes (option 3)

  • Schedule the Segmented Lash Appointment within a couple of days before your wedding all the way up to the day of your wedding we also come to you if you prefer to have us at the venue.

  • These only take about 30 minutes max to apply.

  • Great if you have had an allergic reaction to lash extensions.

  • Stay on for up to two weeks!

Planning Ahead

You may be thinking why do I need to think about these things so far ahead of time and plan so much? Well, there are always going to be outliers such us finding your specific artist, and making sure your hair and makeup are exactly what you like. You want to build in time to make changes and ensure you get the artist your heart desires! Those are just the obvious factors.

Another factor we often overlook is allergic reactions. You need to ensure the products the artists use work well with you! It is not only about the look. The last thing we want is for you to get a rash or terrible breakout right before the wedding. I'm not being dramatic, I promise, I have seen this happen! Could you imagine? The same can happen with swollen eyes due to allergic reactions to glues or black dyes.

If you are concerned about having an allergic reaction communicate that with your artists.

You can book an allergy test for lashes here.
